Summary
The arrival at Erid is a momentous occasion. Rocky is excited and thrilled. Ryland is overwhelmed. But the reunion is happy, beautiful, amazing.
Or that's what it should have been. Except Rocky gets hurt, Ryland is left to try and communicate with an alien planet, and everyone is scrambling to figure out how to do this. To Grace, this is incredible but also bittersweet - he got Rocky home safely with the taumoeba, now he just gets... to starve. To Erid, this is insane - how did Rocky show up in an alien spaceship with a child???

Ryland Grace is stuck trying to speak Eridian, immediately makes himself sound like a child, and Rocky's world and family scramble to help this strange pebble. Misunderstandings galore, alongside hurt/comfort and angst and fluff.

For a whole year, Marissa has been preoccupied with the sun. Ever since she learned its luminosity was decreasing on that fateful Thursday, she’s become obsessed with addressing the issue the best she can while working at the Department of Energy sponsored Berkeley Lab in California. So when Eva Stratt offers her the chance to make a difference in the fight against global cooling, it only takes her a moment to agree.
She didn’t mean to drag her old friend Ryland Grace into it though. At least being the sidekicks of the de-facto world dictator is a little more pleasant with someone familiar around.
An AU where Grace’s grad school friend Marissa from the novel is brought onto the Petrova Taskforce. More of an exploration of character dynamics and the need to hold onto what makes us human in the face of a crisis than dealing with the butterfly effect. Mostly book canon but I was inspired to add a few things from the movie too. Also featuring an extremely generous helping of artistic liberty since canon Marissa has very little characterization.

Summary
Ilyukhina wakes up light years away from her home, from her promised path to a heroic, honourable end. A hundred thousand miles from all the people she left behind. Her induced coma went on too long, and now she's missed all the action, all the decisions, and opened her eyes to an epilogue to a story that should've been hers too, because why else did she leave? To go home, is the wish in her heart, with the only friend she has left.
Grace chose to come home, light years away from the porch where he'd throw his bag after school. A hundred thousand miles, and not a single regret, except now there is somebody who's home isn't here. To stay, is the wish in his heart, with the only part of the porch that he'd ever care to keep around.
