“You don’t remember?” Cas seems genuinely surprised. As surprised as he can, at least, with that perpetually bird-like way he has about him.
“What, you yanking me out? Nah. There’s nothing there.”
“Yes, I carried you out of Hell.”
“My burning soul.”
“Yes.”
“What was- What was that like?”

Summary
With a jolt- a terrible, gasping noise- Cas wakes as if forced into this world all over again. Dean only has a second to take in the pale of his skin and watch the way Cas’s bottom lip trembles before Cas has both hands braced against Dean’s chest and pushes with a force that knocks the wind out of him.
The Oof! that blooms out of Dean’s throat seems to snap Cas out of whatever state of terror he was still in because he blinks as if to clear a fog from his eyes before a different sort of awful expression crosses his face.
“Dean, I- I’m so sorry-”
“Hey, man,” Dean says. He’s trying his best to keep his voice soothing, but there’s a strange tremor in his fingers still. “Hey, it’s okay, it’s alright. Been there, done that. Just glad you didn’t have a gun under your pillow.”
or the one where cas went to the empty and got brought back human, but the confession never happened before he got taken

Summary
Dean’s used to waking up in the middle of the night, though he can admit that’s gotten a lot rarer since he started sleeping with Cas, both in the literal and metaphorical sense.
For a second, he worries that something is wrong, but before that thought can fully form, he registers the feeling of Cas pressed flush against his back, one protective hand splayed on his hip, not resting soundly but grinding against Dean with slow, deliberate rocking motions, fingers clenching, bunching the fabric of Dean’s sweatpants in a firm grip.
Dean isn’t complaining one bit about the proceedings. He just wants Cas to be, y’know, conscious.

Summary
Castiel’s clearly not about to complain about Dean’s predilection for this particular act, but he can admit he finds it fascinating, another of Dean’s little quirks that he wants to investigate to the fullest even if he never arrives at a complete understanding.
He’s lost track of how many times Dean has pulled him aside in the middle of the day and dragged him somewhere moderately private – maybe the backseat of the car, maybe a rest stop bathroom – like he couldn’t wait another second to get his mouth on Castiel.
