"Jay," Tim slurred, the name dragging across his tongue that no longer seemed interesting in working. "I'm fine. I'll show you, see?"
He planted a hand against the tile before Jason could stop him once more.
"Tim—"
Tim ignored him.
He pushed himself up right.
For half a second, nothing happened.
Then the ringing started. It was just a faint, high-pitched whine that he almost mistook for the safe houses ancient plumbing. Then a feeling spread before he had a chance to think about it.
A strange prickling crept up the back of his neck, racing along his scalp and down his shoulder blades until every hair on his body seemed to stand on end. Goosebumps ripple over his arms despite sweat dampening the collar of his shirt.
The bathroom suddenly felt much too hot. Or much too cold.
It was hard to tell.
Jason was saying something. Tim watched his mouth move but he never caught the words. The ringing swallowed him whole.
Huh.

"Izzy."
He hears it like it's coming through the depths of the ocean. Blurred around the edges. Familiar but soft. His spine's too stiff to turn. His neck aches…everything aches.
"Izzy," they call again, closer. Gentler. "Come to bed, darling."
Bonnet.
He has the urge to say something. Snarl, maybe. Snap back with you're not my captain, Bonnet. But the words feel like gravel in his throat. Dry and grating.
There's another set of footsteps behind him. They are heavier, hard soled boots. Larger. Something he would know in his sleep.
A hand lands on his shoulder—solid, but not heavy.
"Go on, mate," Edward murmurs. "Do as you're told. He is your captain after all."

Izzy’s eye twitches.
“What,” he says, very carefully—because if he doesn’t say it carefully he will absolutely stab someone—“is that.”
Ed doesn’t look up. He’s sitting on the floor in the middle of the chaos, knees tucked up, glitter on his face, laughing with Frenchie and Olu. Tiny green and red ribbons are braided into his beard.
As if on cue, Stede pops up behind him dressed up in a crime against tailoring.
“Oh, Izzy!” Stede beams. “We were just about to come find you. It’s a Christmas tree! Isn't it wonderful!"

That was normal. That was expected.
And surely Bruce knew that.
He’s one of the world’s greatest detectives, or so that’s what everyone seemed to say. The man who noticed things other people missed.
So he would’ve noticed when Tim got hurt and lied.He had to have noticed.
TLDR: Basically Tim Drake lies about getting hurt on a mission during the anniversary week of Jason Todd's passing.
