Gelato. Gelato wouldn't be proud. He wouldn't be disappointed, either. He would tell Ghiaccio that progress can't always be constant, and that setbacks are part of the journey, even, and especially, when the journey will never truly end. You're too soft with him, Sorbet would intervene, because when Gelato was somewhere Sorbet was never really far away. As if he wasn't going to sneak a bag of candy in Ghiaccio's room later. As if you're not going to sneak a bag of candy in his room later, Gelato would snigger quite fittingly, and then laugh at his lover's offended face. Ghiaccio would grunt at their banter, grunt at Gelato's stupid journey metaphor, grunt at the bag of candy sneaked in his room. Or maybe he would laugh too. Maybe for once he would think, this won't last, and he would smile at them. It doesn't matter. Gelato is dead. Sorbet is dead.
