He tries to think of something to say, anything to start or maintain conversation, but he’s never been very good at this. The silence is starting to feel awkward.
The man clears his throat, then hooks his thumb over his shoulder, towards the dive bar at the corner. “Want to grab a drink?”

“This is stupid!” Perona announces as soon as they’re back at the dock. She doesn’t even wait for the boat to stop before she clamors out. “I hate this! I hate you! My nails are ruined! I have blisters! Your dumb boat is too small and it’s ugly!”
She stomps off before jumping into the air, intending to fly the rest of the way back to the castle. Her shriek echoes through the trees, scattering birds and humandrills alike.
OR: Mihawk is tired of being the only one capable of getting supplies off the island, so he decides to instruct Perona and Zoro on how to sail his ship so they can do it instead. Of course, nothing goes as planned.

Each kiss brings a silent apology and vow, as if to say I love you, I love you, I’m here, you’re safe with me and I’m safe with you. What he wants to say, out loud: you never have to leave, please stay forever.
