Jez stares at him, expectant and bewildered. “When we…?”Just as Mark still dithers to elaborate, and Jeremy thinks it’s nearing time to put the four-days-stale curry in the microwave, Mark makes a sudden dive for Jeremy’s mouth, lips protruding - like a penguin, only much more slobbery - and Jeremy instantly recoils.
“Mark, you’re not twelve, you can just say ‘snogged’.”
“But it’s such an awful word! It’s like… damp, or wet, or-” he suppresses a shudder, “-moist! Gah!” Realising that he hasn’t quite converted Jeremy to his thought process, Mark gets over himself. “Point is, if that’s how she felt about us kissing, imagine how she’d feel about me…

Summary
Arthur locates a takeaway espresso cup on the shelf above the sink, and starts pouring coffee into it. It's large enough to hold two shots, so he hopes that if he fills it right up to the brim, it will hold three. Maybe. Just as Arthur is debating the likelihood of him spilling it in the journey from the coffee machine to the counter, he wonders exactly who is the recipient of this death wish of a drink. Quickly, as if not to be caught in the act, he glances over his shoulder to the other side of the counter.
And...
He sees nothing. Well, that is, nearly nothing. The customer has their head turned, so all he can see is a mop of reddish curls, plus the flash of a pinstriped blazer, before he has to turn back to coffee. As he turns the tap off, he pauses.
Did it really have orange pinstripes?
Or: Ford and Arthur fall in love but this time it's in a coffee shop.

For once in his life, Rimmer was going on holiday, and not just to the east of his home moon, lo. This year, he was going abroad at the courtesy of the Space Corps. The planet they had chosen was one he would have decided on himself, had he groped his way far enough up the ziggerol to have the authority to make that choice. Green, watery, and full of fluffy clouds... yes, this year, he was going to Earth.
"Will you shut up about it already?" interrupted Lister, who was lying in the bunk above. "I'm trying to get some kip, here."
"When are you not."
"Hey, but it's important tonight!" he protested. "We've got to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow!”
Oh, right, that. Since neither of them had earned enough wages to get their own place to stay during the summer, various arrangements and arguments had been made between them.
