Summary
Sawamura turns back to Kazuya, a steely, determined look in his eyes as he resolutely proclaims to him, “You have to come with me to Nagano! It's settled!”
He sighs.
“Did I miss the part where I agreed to this?”
“You don't need to agree! It's already decided,” Sawamura insists confidently, pointing an accusing finger. “And it’s not like you have anything going for you, Mr. Hermit!”
Unpredictable as ever, Sawamura has a way of pulling people along in his wake, dragging them into his whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm before they can think to resist. He had followed Kazuya both to Seidou and to the pros – it was only natural that, eventually, Kazuya would be the one following him.
In which Kazuya’s carefully guarded feelings begin to unravel the moment he follows Sawamura home to Nagano for the summer.

The next day, Connor works out at the gym. He skates for over an hour. He texts Dr. Terry and Kyle that he’s good to rejoin the team once they start practicing again after the All-Star break. He tries to cram as much protein as he can into his (essentially entirely liquid) diet to keep his weight up. He pulls the sheets up on his bed, showers, throws on a load of laundry, and talks to his mom and tells her that he’s fine.
He thinks about Kevin.
And he watches the Blackhawks lose.
So basically - just a routine, typical day in Connor’s life at this point.
[Set in January / February 2024, Connor Bedard fractures his jaw, begs the team doctor to clear him to return to play, and realizes his feelings for his teammate. Sort of, but not necessarily in that order.]

Nico sits on his bed and grabs his phone for the first time in a few hours. “You don’t even have a significant other,” he comments.
“Apparently I do now,” Jack mumbles loud enough for Nico to hear.
His head snaps up. He didn’t know Jack was seeing anyone. “Who?”
“I told Quinn that I was thinking about bringing you,” Jack tells him. Nico opens his mouth to say something but Jack continues talking. “Please do this one thing for me. It’s just two weeks of pretending to be my boyfriend. I owe you one if you do this to me. Pretty please, Nico?”
What can he say to that? No? The way Jack is practically pleading with him. He sounds desperate for Nico to do this for him. Jack is his best friend. He’s in love with Jack, which means that Nico could never say no to him.
OR
Jack makes a proposal for Nico to be his boyfriend for two weeks after the season ends and Nico cannot say no to Jack

And then, Miyuki will be Eijun’s boyfriend and catch for him whenever he asks because that’s what a good boyfriend does!
