Summary
“I missed you,” Yuuta says, breathing in the scent of Toge, Toge, Toge—who smelled like glue and burnt styrofoam and wood shavings; acrid, familiar scents somehow easing the tension in Yuuta’s muscles—as he presses a trail of tender kisses across Toge’s hairline. “Kyoto wasn’t the same without you.”
And Toge laughs, short and breathy, separating just far enough for him to sign: You mean having someone spend your money?
“You spend my money either way though...?” Toge smacks Yuuta’s shoulders, drawing out a bark of laughter. Yuuta’s hands drift, resting against Toge’s hips. “No—Kyoto wasn’t the same because the days were boring, and you weren’t there to make it better.”
Toge’s heart was definitely going to explode. He breathes through the suffocating—satisfying—discomfort, hands coming up to sign: Tokyo wasn’t the same without you either.

Summary
"Toge." Yuta shakes him hard by the shoulder. "Toge, wake up."
His hand limply flops around and bumps the can of -196 by his head, spilling a fizzy concoction that is definitely not just vodka seltzer all over the pavement, where it soaks into his hair and Yuta's shoes.
"Come on," he pleads, eyes flicking nervously around the alley. "I know you don't wanna get up, but you have to."
All he receives in response is an exhausted groan, but it's a sign of life, so he won't complain.
"Just come back with us," he tries. "I know you're in pain. We're not going to take anything away. We only want you to be safe, please."
Toge merely takes a quick, gasping inhale and curls up in the fetal position, and while most would consider the sight vulnerable or childish, Yuta knows better. He is sending one message and one message only: leave me the fuck alone.

Summary
Toge studied him for a second, then nodded. He shifted closer and wrapped one hand lightly around Yuuta’s arm, holding on with easy familiarity, his thumb brushing once against the fabric of Yuuta’s sleeve.
Yuuta was going to die.
He was going to die in this coffee shop that smelled like burnt caramel, sitting next to the most attractive man he’d ever hired to pretend to love him, and Maki was going to read his obituary aloud at his funeral and roast him for it.
“Relax,” Toge murmured, close enough that his breath ghosted against Yuuta’s ear. “I’m very good at this.”
That, Yuuta thought desperately, is exactly the problem.
Yuuta hired a professional boyfriend for one fake double date with his friends, which would have been a lot less dangerous if said boyfriend were better at staying professional.

Summary
"Toge, I'm home," he calls. He closes the door behind him before slipping his shoes off and reaching to find the light switch. Once his fingers find the switch, he flips it on.
The light immediately comes to life, and Yuuta freezes as he spots Toge lying flat on his back with his head towards the door.
"Toge?" Yuuta calls nervously. Is he sick? Is he feeling unwell? Careful not to ruin the things he brought back for Toge, he gently sets them to the side before creeping forward. "What's wrong?"
Yuuta flinches when Toge's eyes shoot open and roll back in his head to stare at Yuuta. If he's being completely honest, it's...slightly unnerving.
Then he suddenly pushes himself up onto all four limbs. With a crazed look in his eyes, he starts to crawl back towards Yuuta like he's possessed by a ghost.
Yuuta's not ashamed to admit that he shrieked like a banshee.
Model Yuuta comes to realize that his boyfriend is a bit stranger than he anticipated.
