Most notably, strung along the curtain rod connecting the posts of the bed, Harrow spots, unmistakably, a row of worn-to-death pointe shoes, hanging by their neatly tied ribbons, some threadbare at the box, others splotched faintly with what Harrow can only assume is blood. lt reminds her of a gallows.
