Colin’s fingers twitch. He shifts his weight from foot to foot. He’s been waiting for several minutes and he’s only getting more anxious. If only he could see her. He sighs dramatically.
“Your wife?” asks the customs officer.
Colin nods, eyes still searching for any glimpse of his friend, before realising that that isn’t correct. “I mean… no…” he mutters quietly.
We’re in Fiji, he reminds himself. They’re a very friendly people. She’ll be fine.
