"Oh, no you don't!" Crowley shouted from across the pyre, catching her by the shoulders. "Angel, grab the book!"
Singeing his fingers, Aziraphale pulled the Book out of the flames, patting the embers till it burned no more. But still, the darkness swirled around them, threatening to consume them as well.
"Let me go!" Michael cried, thrashing against Crowley's grip.
"I know what it means to be unforgivable," Crowley hissed, "and you don't get off that easy. Quick, while you still can— what's the first thing you remember?"

Crowley groaned. His head hurt. His physical body hurt. His metaphysical body hurt.
"Shhhh," Aziraphale cautioned, half-carrying him around a corner of a long dim hallway, one arm wrapped tightly around Crowley's waist, a simmering sword outstretched in the other hand.
Crowley stared at Aziraphale, as the two of them pressed agains the wall. "Why are you dressed like that?" He glanced down. "Why am I dressed like this?" He was in dark celestial robes, hood covering his rather lush red locks, long soft leather boots tied up his shins.
"I thought it appropriate, as we're under attack." Aziraphale’s armor shone in the sword light. He paused, "You don’t like it?"

Summary
Former police detective Anthony Crowley makes his living selling information on the black market - and there’s something curious going on in a certain bookshop in SoHo, patrons disappearing for days at a time. Of course, once he decides to investigate and meets the gorgeous proprietor, he has other interests to consider.
Aziraphale does his duty as a book keeper, running a discrete shop where patrons can partake of very unique journeys. When a former detective starts snooping around, Aziraphale ends up on the adventure he never dared take.

This was part of the GOAD Nightingale Challenge. My song was 32 Flavors, by Ani Difranco. And two little ficlets popped up - a darker, angstier one from Crowley and a sweeter, fluffier one from Aziraphale. They are completely unrelated but I hope you enjoy them both.
