It affected the souls in different manners, colours, touches, ways. Some felt their indefatigable tedious lives with incalculable infinitesimal mazes become sweeter, others found it saltier. Sour and embittered.

He doesn't bother to mince his words. Not tonight, with Ilya being as exhausted as he is, and not with Ilya being uncomfortable. He rarely gets to see him this outwardly protective.
