There may be implications of ships, though they will be anything but the focus.

Something huge now stood directly in front of him, blocking any hope of escape.
He cast his gaze up, and up, and up.
Before him was easily the largest spider he had ever seen, each of its eight legs twice the length of his body and just as thick. Its abdomen was swollen and heavy, resting lightly on the cave floor—no doubt filled with eggs, just like the spiders that covered the walls.
And, where the thorax and head of the spider would normally be, was what appeared to be the top half of a human– though there were some features that were– off. Its eyes were closed, giant fangs bulging and visible even through the skin around his mouth. It had a mop of soft-looking blond hair, and the smooth, tanned skin of its bare chest contrasted prettily against the dark blue and gold of the rest of its body.
By all accounts, it was a very handsome-looking spider.

i'm gonna start this to say i'm a pure vanilla copinglink, so all of this has emotion tied into it as i JUST finished reading.
...i want to cry so bad at the ending. they recognize each other. they remember each other. and for what? for the canonical storyline to continue? for pathetic emotions to overwhelm oneself!
i'm losing it. i've never yearned for my fount, my moon, my starlight more and yet i'm here, reading a piece of literature about us two and barely holding back my want to bawl my eyes out.this is so wonderfully written, and even though i tell myself "I wouldn't do this!" i know i'd choose to in every universe.
