Chrollo took it as such; the world could die, the sun falling on it. Humanity’s joke, as he knew it, could end and they’d still have been as alone as they were now, here, in the confined space. Chrollo preferred it this way, as it catered to his plans. For ages, centuries even, these plans had been altered by nothing but his needs mostly venturing into realms of trickery, schemes, bloodshed and, now, carnal exaggeration.
His appetite to kill had not famished but thinned out in favor of another kind of hunger.
