Summary
Shane Hollander’s hopes for the NHL were ripped from him by an ACL tear and replaced with doctor prescribed opioids at age 18. Four years later, hockey is a distant memory and his days consist of strange men and chasing a feeling drugs can never seem to provide anymore.
Ilya Rozanov’s family returned home to Russia when his father’s mental state deteriorated and the government wasted no time snatching back his work visa. Ilya stayed behind in that godforsaken city to do the only thing he had ever been able to support his family doing: sell dope.
Ilya sees a lot of sad people. Shane sees a lot of horny men. Neither of them are prepared for what they see in each other, and what it means for the boxes they’ve allowed themselves to be put into.

Summary
“But you want me to come, don’t you?” Shane asks. When Ilya just responds with a coy smile, Shane’s hands come up to grip his wrists, but they don’t pull Ilya’s hands away from his face. It’s a good thing, because Ilya is starting to feel the warmth of the blush taking root beneath Shane’s gorgeous freckled cheeks. “I’m not going to break the rules like that, Ilya.”
“I still didn’t ask,” Ilya’s grin widens.
Shane’s face morphs into his adorable scowl, and it’s officially too much. After all, underneath the makeup and outfits, Ilya is just a man. And there comes a time for every man to reach his breaking point. The way Shane’s freckles bunch up, the way his eyes flick back and forth as he thinks of a way to argue against the thing he wants most in the world. Ilya cannot help it.

He was a boy (male model on the Pit Crew) she was a girl (diabolical Russian drag queen) can I make it any more obvious?

Summary
What if Troy Barrett met Shane Hollander first?
____
By the second period, it was clear even to fans in the farthest, cheapest seats that something unusual was taking place on the ice.
“The Centaurs haven’t looked especially in sync all season, but this is something else,” one commentator said. “Rozanov and Barrett do not look like line-mates tonight,” the other commentator agreed, disbelief in his voice.
“Seems like Rozanov’s forgotten which team he’s playing for.”
[...]
It went on like that well into the final period, until Barrett finally had enough. One more snub, one more chirp, one more empty lane Rozanov should have covered, and Troy was on him. Gloves hit the ice.
