“You’re out of fucking line” he hissed at me, stepping closer as his eyes were storming with anger. "It's not about saying thank you, it's about fucking protocol. fucking teamwork. following fucking orders, you don't fucking listen ever, you get reckless, and recklessness means people die," he hissed at me, his voice rising with each of his words. I rolled my eyes again and scoffed, turning away to grab a water bottle from the counter. His words hit a nerve. Reckless? Maybe, but I only ran back into that lab to save him. Hearing the edge in his voice made my stomach twist. "I'm not some fragile rookie you need to babysit Leon. I saved your ass. say fucking thank you and move on," I spat. The look on his face when I let those words fall out of my mouth…. he was pissed. In two strides, he closed the distance and his large hand clamped around my wrist, yanking me back to face him. His face was inches from mine, his breath hot against my skin. His eyes were blazing with absolute fury and a flicker of something else that I couldn’t place. "I've had enough of your bratty mouth. It’s time you learned a fucking lesson"
