The world is ending, as your neighbor put it, and he advised you to close the windows, stay put inside, and wait until the World Government finds a solution for all of this mess. If you do get out, the sun will burn you alive, is what you were told.
But, honestly? You didn't care what apocalypse was happening outside the house. Your husband was dead, you had no family to talk to, and your friends were nowhere to be found. You were utterly alone, wallowing in your self-pity. The sun could kill you all for all you cared.
So, what were you supposed to do when Rocinante, who you were told was killed in action, appeared in front of you? Was it actually him, or was this thing one of those "Visitors" you heard about?
...And did it matter, really?

Summary
You're a weak, down-on-your-luck Marine who doesn't really care about justice in particular or anything. You mostly joined the World Government for the paycheck, really. And that amazing health insurance they gave out, of course. And if you could do small good deeds every now and then while at it, great!
But what did that mean, exactly? Well, it meant you did your best to avoid pirates and keep your head low until you could retire for the most part. But, as fate would have it, you always found yourself facing one. Especially the ones who could kill you with their bare hands, unfortunately.
