    Her breath catches. She squeezes her eyes shut as tightly as she can, burrows into Baran’s warmth like she’s trying to climb inside of her. It feels good, being held like this. Baran is so sweet. So warm. So loving. And Victoria hasn’t felt that in so fucking long.

    (“You deserve better,” Baran had said in the breakroom. 

    She’s right. Vic deserves better. Vic deserves this.)

    Touch, she’s learning, can feel good. Not good in the way a proper suture feels, not good in the way an A+ feels, not even good in the way a really good meal feels when it settles in her belly. No, this kind of good is more like a waterfall. A rocketship. The fizz of pop rocks on her tongue. Fingers inside of her, fucking her slowly.
