Summary
The raw instincts of the blood were simple, stupid things; the alpha smelled the open heat of an omega, and it prepared to mount, regardless of the hatred in the soul.
Or, newly mated and already miserable, Valarr and Aerion are forced to share a wheelhouse, a bed, and the long road to Ashford Meadow.

Summary
"Maekar thought, sometimes, that he would have been happier to die fighting alongside his brother during the Rebellion than returning home to live a life without him. At least then, they would have been burned together."

Summary
Maekar was a fighter from the very moment he was born. It was something his parents tried to soften, something the court looked at unfavorably.
Baelor, well, he loved it. He loved him strong, loved him angry.
He simply loved Maekar.
Now, only if Maekar could stop fighting that very love.

Summary
Daeron frowned, the indignation in his eyes and expression smoothing out into something sad and pained. “Do you really think that ill of me, father?"
“What?”
"I said, do you really think that of me? A wanton omega who throws themselves at any random alpha who gives them attention? Who whores around every chance they get?”
Maekar scowled. “Do not put words in my mouth, boy. I never said that.”
“I know you don’t think much of me, but… is it so entirely impossible for you to pretend that you love me? Even just a little?” Daeron whispered, and when he looked back at Maekar, his eyes were glassy with unshed tears.

Summary
After his nephew fails to make an appearance before an important delegation, Baelor decides to teach both Daeron and Maekar a lesson.
Something had gone wrong somewhere along the way, some rot had set in, just as it had with Aerion. The fault, Baelor could admit, lay as much with his beloved brother as with his spawn if not more, for was the rearing of a tree not the gardener’s province? One bad seed could be explained away, but if the whole meadow withered…No, that was indication of the gardener’s incapacity. There was not much that could be done now–maybe the little ones could be saved if they played their cards right, if Maekar learned from his mistakes–but some of the damage might yet be mitigated. Daeron was, after all, not Aerion. If he lacked in strength, mettle, ambition, honour–the list went on, really–at least he did not share in his brother’s wild, uncaring cruelty either.
Baelor had worked with much less.
