Summary
Just a year into his search for the Avatar, Prince Zuko is swept off his ship during a fierce storm. Heartsick and alone, he eventually makes his way to a certain forest in the Earth Kingdom. After defending himself from Fire Nation soldiers using his bending, Zuko is captured by Jet, who is delighted to have an ashmaker for a prisoner.
When Aang, Katara, and Sokka arrive, it's too late; Zuko is left with no name, no humanity, and no sanity.
This fic has been described as an "angst cake with sprinkles of humor and sweetness on top."

Sokka finds out that Zuko’s life-threatening, Sozin-comet-powered, crazy-blue-fire-prodigy-inflicted lightning wound didn’t scar.
And Sokka’s got questions about that.
Because if that didn’t scar, how in Koh’s lair did he get the one on his face?

Summary
“Top up?” A voice asked. Remus, although nodding vaguely, was barely paying attention.
He only snapped back into reality, when the glass reappeared on the counter with a gentle thump. He unfolded a crumpled note from his pocket, sliding it across the bar as his fingers gripped around the cool glass.
Then he looked up.
His heart did a strange flip, when his eyes finally met the bartender's. A man stood before him, long raven hair falling over his shoulders in perfect waves. The top button of his shirt was undone, revealing a slither of pale, tattooed skin beneath his neck.
Dark eyelashes framed light eyes that seemed instantly so deep, so sinkable, that Remus didn't notice the twitch of a finger, or the shattering of glass.
He didn't notice anything, until the man's perfect face had twisted with concern.

A muggle teacher AU, in which Remus Lupin is a teacher and Sirius Black works in the staff's regular pub. Remus has Huntington's Disease, although he doesn't know it yet, and must face a grim new reality as he and those around him struggle with the implications.

Summary
Everything was burning. His whole world, crumbling and turning to ash around him.
Zuko was aware he was shaking, he was aware of the sob building in his chest. But he couldn’t care. Not when that ugly red wound was staring at him, covering his uncle’s left shoulder. His clothes smoldered and the air smelled of burnt flesh.
Someone touched his shoulder, and Zuko flinched. Hard.
He whirled around, fist raised and smoking with the promise of fire.
The Water Tribe girl, Katara, backed off with her hands raised in a peaceful gesture.
“I can help,” she promised, her voice soft, her gaze sinking to Zuko’s uncle who was lying unmoving on the ground before him. “Zuko, I can heal him.”
“No,” he finally spoke, his voice raw and hoarse and too quiet. He hated himself. He wished he could find the anger that drove him, but it was buried beneath the grief of the idea that Uncle was going to die and it would be his fault.
Katara’s face contorted in frustration. Her fists balled at her sides. “Zuko, if you don’t let me help he’s going to die!”
Or: What if Zuko let Katara heal Iroh after "The Chase", and that's when Zuko joins the Gaang?
