The wizard leaned in just a little closer, voice dropping into something darker, almost intimate. “What do you think I’ve captured you for?”
Mike swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry. “I’d rather not take a look into that sick and twisted mind of yours, William the Wicked.”
William sighed, tilting his head slightly, a faint pout playing on his lips. There’s a mole above them. It captures Mike’s attention for a moment. “I do wish they would stop calling me that.”
“Why?” Mike shot back, unable to keep the edge from his voice. “It is fitting, no?”
The wizard turned his back on him and began pacing slowly across the room, robes whispering against the stone floor. After a few moments he stopped, glancing over his shoulder to meet Mike’s eyes directly.
“Because, my dear paladin,” he said smoothly, “I grant wishes.”

I’m the cat that dies
Okay before I scare myself, I need to get some facts down:
1. Apparently this William the wicked is like a thing
2. I do really like their writing style, they’re very good.Okay I’ve read a bit further now, and wow they are a good writer, and everything aside (so far) from the self indulgent breeding kink, is like spot on Mike the brave characterisation. And Will is alright, he’s more just there for Mike (which makes sense) but this has no level of introspection of understanding of his character.
SO, I FINISHED IT. AND WHY WAS IT LOWKEY MASTERFUL.
now don’t get me wrong I’m not really into the breeding kink now or anything.
But the writing is so well done, and the way the author portrays the kink is less of a kink and more of a manifestation of Micheal’s repression and desires.Hear me out, the author writes the breeding kink as a lowkey headcanon of Micheal the paladin, which does check out cause in the universe, usually, the greatest fulfilment one can achieve is family and love (cause it’s medieval and shit) and Mike being gay and having this whole pure paladin path thing, his greatest desires would contradict his current life and reflect his idealised life, so the jump from wanting a family with a man and someone to love and care for him to “breeding kink” really isn’t that far fetched. Like that’s kinda how kinks work in the real world. They just applied that logic to a more realistic world view (for that universe).
Also the author obviously stated that this was their own kink they’re projecting onto Mike, however it’s written so well. I can’t even call it mischaracterisation, because paladin Mike (the brave) is a different character from the original Mike wheeler. He’s either written as a direct parallel (like he is in this) which means he deals with similar struggles (being queer and comforting and comphet) or he completely opposes original mikes character he accepts himself fully without rejecting his ‘acceptable traits’ like he’s still a brave and honourable knight, while loving and serving his boyfriend (and devoting his life usually). And the world accepts him for it (or sometimes his world is also homophobic but they just write his character as older so he’ll have accepted himself by then, but that’s rarer).
In conclusion not only did this author allow themselves to self indulge, they also did a masterful take on Mike the brave (paladin mike) and wrote a layered and complex character. IN A SMUT PLOTLESS FIC.
Also forgot to mention I HATE mpreg, but this was like transcending the game.

Summary
After Vecna died, Will somehow inherited all of his powers, including his ability to manipulate people’s minds. In Mike’s opinion, Will is the sexiest person to ever live, but particularly when he uses his powers, and especially when he uses them on Mike. He loves having his head messed with, knowing at his core Will would never use his powers for evil.
Well, not much evil.

So this is literally 3k of nothing. Half the tags do not apply, it’s just everyone hanging out in a bar and wills ex boyfriend chance shows up and flirts with Mike and then Mike goes back to Will at the end of the evening. It’s like it’s unfinished but didn’t know it was.
