As he walked, he couldn't help noticing that almost everyone was looking at him. The stares weren't malicious, though, so he paid them little mind. He had been on the receiving end of enough different kinds of looks throughout his life to recognize them. These weren't judgmental.
If anything, they seemed... amused. And strangely fond. He could even hear a few quiet chuckles as he walked past.
Germans are weird, Michael thought.

Shiki felt his ears flush for several reasons. First, Jin paid so much attention to him that it gave him chills; second, Jin was lying next to him, sharing the bed—even though Shiki had stolen his space—and third, as strange as it sounded, Jin was worried about him.
"It is silly..." Shiki muttered, looking at the boards of the top bed.
"It is not silly if it has had you like this for days."
