    "Kaminari-kun?" she asks tentatively and Denki stills for a few seconds, before eventually raising his hand and waving at her. "What are you doing?"

    "Stargazing," Denki answers and it's honest enough but Uraraka doesn't look like she believes him. Denki can’t say he doesn’t get it. "You?"

    She carefully slips her hand into her pocket to pull out a pack of cigarettes. Denki's eyes widen in surprise.

    Prequel to Come Back to Me.

    Denki and Hitoshi are two kids with plenty of damaged baggage. They're just trying their best to get through high school. It's not as easy as the movies make it out to be.
    Hitoshi finally has a stable home with two loving dads that will do anything to help him accomplish his dream of being a hero. That doesn't mean the anxiety goes away. But he's managing it. Mostly.
    It would be better if class 1-A would just leave him alone.
    Denki is the class clown that distracts everyone with a laugh. Because if they're laughing then they won't notice that he isn't actually happy. He's terrified of disappointing his parents. Their disappointment can be quite painful but their rules are very clear. He must do whatever it takes to live up to their expectations.
    The thing is though. There's this new classmate that he can't stop thinking about.

    **You do not have to have read Come Back to Me to enjoy this story. It takes place before those events.
