He's open twenty-four hours a day and only a couple of minutes' walk away, making it the perfect spot to spend a fifteen-minute break or get a hit of proper coffee. (Christos has been reliably informed that the coffee in the breakrooms is shit, and he prides himself on providing the good stuff)
Out of all the many doctors, nurses, and other staff who frequent his diner. He has a favourite. Dr Michael Robinavitch.
Dr Robby, that's what he told Christos to call him.

The email was from Brian Price, who'd done his residency at PTMC before covid, then sailed straight into a cushy gig at Cedars thanks to family connections and Adamson's recommendation. Robby had quietly hated him, happy to see him go.
Brian's email included a forwarded job listing, seeking a temporary Chief of Emergency Medicine for PTMC, to start July 4th, Robby's last day before his sabbatical. Jack had been expecting Gloria to ask him to step up.
He'd heard nothing from her. And now this, as good as announcing the news: they were bringing in an external hire.

It is not until he is bathing that evening that he realises why the answer is yes.
He’s so used to the occasional ink splattering on his skin that needs washing off, that he doesn’t even note the words in block cursive travelling up his thigh for what they are for a good moment. “I shall make you mine,” he vows in return, surging upwards and pushing her backwards. He pins her to the ground, yet it lacks any harshness, his hand braced behind her head to make sure she doesn’t collide roughly with the pavement.
