Summary
Buck is confronted with the undeniable truth: Eddie Diaz, as it turns out, is beautiful both as a man and as a woman.
Fuck my life, Buck thinks faintly.
Unfortunately, his mild panic does not go unnoticed.
“You—you like me?” Eddie asks quietly, voice disbelieving. “Other me? Me as a woman?”
Buck turns wide, panicked eyes to Eddie. “No!”
“I know what your face looks like when you’re into someone, Buck,” Eddie says under his breath. “You’re—looking at her.”
“Politely. I’m polite,” Buck stresses. He bumps into the counter and comes to an abrupt stop. He realises only then, of course, that both Lady Eddie and Lady Buck are staring at him.
OR: Buck and Eddie crash the car. The universe, finally sick of their shit, kidnaps them.
OR: a totally, super-serious spec fic featuring inter-dimensional travel.

Summary
“We get out of the room. We stay together. We don’t answer the phone.”
“And we don’t split up.”
On a road trip gone very wrong, Buck and Eddie must stop for the night at The Four Aces, a beautiful, impossible motel in the middle of the desert that seems to know exactly how to hurt them. As hallways stretch, rooms shift, and phones ring with familiar voices, the motel begins weaponizing everything they refuse to say: Buck’s fear of being useful but not chosen, Eddie’s guilt and repression, and the life they’ve built together without ever naming it.
The only way out is through — and this time they have to go together.

Summary
Eddie's never been much of a dreamer.
When he was a boy, he'd been too preoccupied changing his sisters' nappies and teaching them the ABCs. His shelves carried his ballroom dancing trophies, but he never took the competitions seriously enough to consider dance a career path. His eventual high school baseball ambition, too, was short-lived, with a baby on the horizon.
But maybe it wasn't so much that Eddie had little time to dream, but that his dreams were those of his parents and the Church. He didn't bother making any of his own, happy to follow the advice of those who seemingly knew better what to make of his life.
But now, with his recent realizations at the forefront of his mind, Eddie's learning to dream — writing his own version of a life grander than it is now.
