Shouto pauses. Izuku’s eyes are open again, and they are tired, the blanket tangled up around their legs is warm and comforting and feels like sleep.
Frost creeps in swirls down his wrist like it does a glass windowpane. Izuku’s is open because it’s a warm night, and sometimes the breeze blows over his face and through his air and it tastes like hope. The moonlight casts shadows into Izuku’s dark hair, and he looks beautiful; he looks soft, chest rising in little quiet inhales, and Shouto had never realized how tiring the scent of coffee is.
