The room was silent, even Wolfwood having shut up.
Knives felt heat rise beneath his skin, his throat choking up.
“And you lured me here by loudly faking sexual relations until I showed up to tell you off?” His mind was racing and he wasn't quite sure which emotion he would settle on before the question was out of his mouth. This was absolutely preposterous and laughable. What did they take him for? Surely this was just one big ill-advised prank they were pulling on him.
