All Might merch, like most hero merch, is pretty male-targeted.
Pronouns in Japanese are often substituted with a name or just omitted altogether.
Izuku is usually a boy's name, but what indicates gender in a name is actually the kanji used (example: Katsuki is a pretty common girl's name when written as 香月) and in itself 出久 is kinda gender-ambiguous.
All of these factors coalesce into this: Katsuki doesn't realize Deku is a girl until middle school.
