Summary
The sound of Rooster’s voice may as well be another explosion, another heavy breath set free from the bottom of his stomach. It’s the moment he begins to understand what his mother wanted when she clutched and prayed to her rosary beads every night. Another reminder that he’s coming home. He’s coming home.
Or, Hangman saves Rooster’s life, then has to contend with the fact that he is a little in love with the mustached asshole.

“Hey Rooster, you big stud,” Jake murmurs.
Bradley shifts up to look at him, his grin bright enough to rival the sun. “That’s me, baby.”
Jake smiles back. You are fucking beautiful, Bradley Bradshaw. “Take me to bed or lose me forever.”
He doesn’t quite recognize the feeling blooming in his chest.
Bradley stands, offering him a hand. “Show me the way home, sweetheart.”

Summary
He looks at his glass of water, condensation dripping onto his hand where he’s still holding onto it lightly, still nearly full. She seems to make the same assessment, because just moments later, hands are on him, helping him up, well, more like carrying him with how hard he’s leaning on her.
And- when did Penny get so strong? Sure, he knew she was stronger than she seemed, but he was still taller than her and practically twice her weight.
Wait no. No, she’s taller than him. And bigger. The hands holding him up by the side and arm are much larger, more calloused, more worn, more familiar.
It better not be-
“You can make it home safe and sound all by yourself, huh Jake?”
He hasn’t heard Rooster say his name in what feels like eons.

“Slow your roll cowboy. Let’s try not to eat it on the way in, yeah?”
He grimaces, allowing himself to lean a little bit out of Rooster’s hold so that he can maneuver to the side. “So many questions tonight, Roo.” Is all he manages to get out of his mouth at a moments notice. The airy, somewhat annoyed, chuckle that Rooster lets out is just another affirmation out of many of the night that Hangman needs to keep his mouth shut.
“You haven’t called me that in years, Hangy.”

Summary
Five times Jake gets loopy and suffers from loose lips – and y'know, the one time Bradley falls victim.
“I call dibs,” Hangman waggles his finger at Javy, as serious as he is mid-lecture. “Stay away.”
“All yours, man,” Javy wheezes. Bradley feels his face turn bright red: it’s one thing to tip-toe around their newfound rivalry-turned-friendship. For Bradley to flirt at the bar but have the cover of easy rivals, a little biting and tad homoerotic under pretense of getting on each other’s nerves. It’s another to have Jake, drugged up, declaring how much he wants Bradley.

“I like how it feels,” the flush could be from embarrassment, or fever, or upset at losing something he apparently holds dear. “When you kiss me.”
“Jake,” Bradley coos. He strokes a soothing hand through Jake’s hair – a little greasy, but he doesn’t mind. “It’ll grow fast. Sorry, I didn't know. Wouldn't have done it.”
Jake’s voice is rough from phlegm, but he still smirks when he goes in for the kill: “Like how it feels after you eat me out, too.”
Bradley stops mid food delivery order and instead googles sex while sick, bad idea?

Summary
“What do you say, Rooster. Want to make it fun?” Jake asks, irritation finally wearing his restraint thin.
“Sounds like it's plenty fun already.” Bradshaw says. “What's the pool at?”
“350 for the highest scorer,” says Payback. “And losing team buys dinner.”
Bradley gestures, one hand flicking up briefly from the dark blue pleather, as if to say see?
“Betting on the winning team is all very well,” Jake drawls. “But I'm talking about something a little more… personal.”
Or; the team play laser tag. Surprisingly, Bradshaw's the one who fights dirty.

Bookmarker's Notes
It’s Jake who parts his lips, but Bradley is already there, tongue pressing hot and confident against his own. Jake’s breath catches somewhere between his ribs. The solid weight of Bradshaw against him is the only thing keeping him grounded. When teeth graze his lower lip, he whimpers. There’s no way Bradley heard it, not above the low thud of the music, but maybe he feels it because he chases it up with a repeat performance.

Summary
"What the fuck," Bradley says, because he may have already said it with a look, but some things bear repeating.
"Listen, Bradshaw," Jake says. "There's only so much pity about my non-existent love life I can take. These guys act like a successful career as a decorated Naval aviator is nothing if you don't have someone hanging off your arm."
"I don't see what that's got do with me," Bradley says. He's trying hard not to sound hysterical, he really is, but his hand is twitching with the need to slide right back against the neat tuck of Jake's waist.
or; Jake introduces Bradley to his high school friends as his boyfriend. Bradley's left with no choice but to go along with it.

Bradley drops his gaze and examines the bare skin of Jake's neck and chest. If this is his only chance, he's going to take his time about the decision. Eventually, he ducks his head, presses his mouth against Jake's exposed collarbone—a place that'll be neatly tucked away under his uniform, but is on full display tonight.
Jake inhales sharply and lets his head fall back against the bricks, giving Bradley full and ready access. Bradley pulls back a fraction, looks up at Jake, eyebrow quirked in a question. Jake nods, and that's all the permission that Bradley requires.
