Summary
"Like most students in his program at Tulane, Louis dreamed of one day winning a Pulitzer, or at least an American Photography Award. Instead, he’s spent the decade since graduation selling pictures of stop signs and fence posts to stock photo sites, dabbling in family photography when times get really rough. He was surprised when someone contacted him through his website with an offer of work for a “magazine article or maybe biography” of an unnamed celebrity. It was something different. More importantly, the money was great, more than he could make in years of stock photo sales. Louis accepted quickly. It wasn't until they flew him to LA and made him sign an NDA that Louis was told the name of the star he was to photograph."

Summary
Yuna does not say, I’m sorry, I miss my mom, I can’t keep anything alive.
There are parts of her she never wants Shane to see. She never wants Shane to know about the car she crashed at twenty, the herbs that died because she overwatered them, the miscarriages, or that she wanted to play on a hockey team very badly until she was thirteen. Only now, when her son is seventeen and her parents are long gone, does she understand her father had simply lied to her about the things he never could have forgotten.

Summary
Shane wants to figure out if he's gay before he gets drafted—and no, the way he felt when Ilya Rozanov smirked at him with a cigarette between his lips in Saskatchewan has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, the random guy he hooks up with to try and make sure one way or another takes a picture, and Shane gets outed before the draft. In the ensuing scandal, he goes seventh overall, to Ottawa.
It turns out, having the worst thing you can think of happen to you when you're seventeen years old can end up being pretty liberating. And land you an unexpected best friend.

”The meds should kick in soon. They should be pretty mild, but if you feel nauseous, try and let me know before, not after. There’s a bucket here if you need it.”
”It’s kind of- fruity” said Rozanov, and Shane said, “yeah, people say that” instead of “so am I. Wanna taste?”
And with that, the ambulance pulled away from the curb.

Technically, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander meet at a club. The gun shot wound is a bit of a mood-killer, but I'm sure they'll make it work.

Summary
“And this is Svetlana! You guys have a fun hockey connection. She’s BFFs with—ooh. What’s his name again, babe?”
“Ilya Rozanov,” says Svetlana. Feeling virtuous about it, she offers her hand first. “Don’t tell him I said you have the best hands in the league.”
Shane’s face is rigid. “Um. I won’t?”
“Thank you,” she says gravely. “You have saved a life.” Rose laughs, stroking Shane’s arm, and he suddenly remembers Svetlana’s hand is hanging. He takes it limply and disposes of it quick. His eyes look a little wild.
