Saihara leans back in his seat, situating himself. It could take mere seconds or possible hours to find someone out here. It’s hit and miss, especially on this stretch of road. He’s driven it dozens of times, and it all comes down to luck. But Lady Luck must be on his side today, because just as he comes up and over another hill, he sees the signature thumb pointed out at him, belonging to what looks like at the distance some kid with an unruly head of purple hair. Saihara smiles to himself, slowing down his car and straightening out his posture to appear more welcoming, more friendly. The kids always squirm the most.
But when he pulls up next to the stranger, it’s apparent to him that this is no kid.
The guy grins at Saihara as he rolls down the car window. This is going to be so easy.
“Need a ride?”

Akamatsu called his omajinai a mix of pathetic and off-putting performance art, and Yumeno just said he looks like a freak. None of the patrons complained so far, but surely as a famous idol Ouma would have high standards, right? Maybe Saihara would be offensive to his delicate performance sensibilities.
Carrying the tray over to his table, he places it carefully in front of Ouma, picking up the shaker and pouring him the drink. The pink liquid fills up the glass as Saihara chants soullessly: “moe, moe, kyun!”

He’s been on the phone, for what? Two hours now? Unbelievable. Kaito has no idea why Shuichi likes that boy so much. He’s just a little shrimp with no manners. Sure, he’s smart. But that’s basically the only thing he’s got. In Kaito’s opinion that is. The last time he complained about him to Shuichi, Kaito had to go through a three hour lecture about how fucking amazing he is!
Basically, Kaito is tired of having to deal with Shuichi and his stupid boyfriend.

It’s a split-second thing– his parents initially don’t notice him creeping up behind the sofa, dark hair awkwardly flat on one side from being squashed against his pillow, thumb in his mouth. As soon as they do notice him, his mother is squawking and his father is scooping him up under the arms, hurriedly carrying him back to his bedroom, but Shuichi has already seen what they’d hoped he wouldn’t.
Not that he can quite make sense of it, the violent image of an older girl sawing into another girl’s neck with a dagger, but he’s confused by it and appropriately startled by his parents’ reaction.
He can still hear noises coming from the projector. He doesn’t know why his mother doesn’t just turn it off.
Shuichi Saihara, among others, is chosen to uphold the honor of representing his district in the 53rd annual Hunger Games.
