The dream of flight had ever been a personal wish of Marsha’s. A solitary wish, born at first of the simple desire to escape the earth and embrace what must be true freedom, as her eagle had.
Then, as war encroached and overran them all, it became the firm-held belief that the sky remained the only battleground where the honor and courage of an individual knight still mattered.
And now—Marsha understood that the clouds were not meant to be stained with blood. She did not desire a stage to prove her merits, only a refuge she could borrow for a time, where obligations of duty and responsibility and expectation could not reach her.
Marsha yearns to know the sky. She doesn’t realize that Marianne yearns, too.

Sentinel has come to know many sides of Marsha—the medic, the knight, the lover. Yet she has never witnessed Marsha in a fight that’s free of mortal peril.
