It was embarassing really, just how quickly Wei Wuxian fell for Lan Wangji, the first time they met. Maybe that was why he kept making a fool of himself every time they ran into one another.

Lan Wangji slowly fed him pieces of their breakfast, making sure to smother it in chili oil before offering it to Wei Wuxian, and he was so helplessly in love with this man.
“I love you,” Wei Wuxian hummed happily around a mouthful of rice. “I love you, er-gege. Sweetheart. Did you know that?”

His mother hums in acknowledgment, giving permission for her youngest child to ask the question that had been roaming freely in his head. Lips part open, though his voice comes out more hushed than he anticipated. “A-Niang… What… What color are the gentians in the garden?”
