Summary
Two days before the first years’ Sports Festival, Izuku receives his first official summons to Principal Nedzu’s office.
And by ‘summons’ he means Power Loader-sensei drags him out of Lab Three by the back of his collar and shakes him until he gets it through his head that Nedzu is waiting for him. It takes him longer to screw his head back on straight than it should, but he and Hatsume had been in the middle of prepping his most recent version of Kaachan’s new containment core for stress tests! (Izuku has a sneaking suspicion that the real reason Power Loader-sensei pulled him out at that exact moment was because he had just suggested they take a baseball bat to the new model to see if they could make it explode. Honestly, it’s like the pro has no patience for the scientific version of “fuck around and find out”.)

The kid doesn’t even pay him any attention, eyes fixed to his shoes as he trudges along. He’s wearing a ragged hoodie with holes around the collar, and he’s got some kind of scarf around the lower half of his face. His sweatpants aren’t quite as battered and holey, but it’s a close race.
Shota watches the kid walk towards him, feet kicking at a rock, and comes to the disgusting, heart-wrenching, stomach-turning realization that the scarf around the kid’s face isn’t a scarf.
It’s a muzzle.

Summary

It was unspoken that Shota would stay there, that all of them would stand there and wait for him to come to them.
A part of Shota wanted to go to him first. Wanted to find him and look at his face and reassure himself that he was alive, that he wasn’t still on that battlefield somewhere– his feet were rooted to the ground though, and so he, along with all of them, forced Midoriya Izuku to once again make the first move and come to them.
The first sight of him was like a balm to his trembling soul.Or,
After the war, there's an edge to the Hero Society- a violence that has no place there. Pro Heroes struggle to not go too far with villains, and Izuku teaches them what it means to be a Hero again.
