When Aymeric is selected as sacrifice, he resolves to use his last breaths to slay the dragon terrorizing his people. But the creature awaiting him in the ruins of the Churning Mists is not what he expects.
Nidhogg raised his outstretched hand to cup Aymeric’s cheek. His clawed thumbnail, sharp as a blade, he pressed to Aymeric’s lips almost gently. But any semblance of tenderness disappeared when Nidhogg spoke. “How undeniably poetic it is, dear lordling,” he continued, “that he who slaughtered my Tioman will watch as I slay his mate.”
