Summary
“I would’ve retrieved it for you on my own, Detective. You need not accompany me if you do not wish to,” Nines told him, smug victory dripping from his voice.
“Yeah, what-the-fuck-ever, tin can. I just need to stretch my legs,” he lied.
“In the car?” Nines countered evenly.
Gavin shoved Nines’s shoulder in retaliation, muttering, “You think you’re so fucking funny, don’t you?” under his breath.
“Yes,” Nines affirmed, purposefully ignoring the sarcasm in Gavin’s tone.

Summary
A lot has changed since the revolution.
Crimes against androids are now being treated with greater severity, with many being subject to the same penalties as crimes against humans. While anti-android attitudes are on the decline, transforming the mindset of an entire city is no simple task.
A reluctant Gavin Reed and his new partner RK900 have been assigned to investigate a string of disturbing murders. Despite the shift in Detroit's social climate, Gavin still holds reservations about whether or not androids are truly alive. Will his developing feelings for 'Nines' prompt a shift in perspective?

This should not have happened. None of this should be happening, and wouldn’t be if everyone had listened to me back at the nest and stayed put.

Summary
"Are you in cycle?"
Oh. That's it?
"No," I reply honestly. I haven't been in cycle for over I∀ℓ+ years. My body stopped producing eggs as a byproduct of the stressful environment I was in. I don't think it has caught on to the fact that I am no longer stranded in space, light years away from any living Eridian. Most days, I am just as stressed as if I had never left. I try not to let it show.
Adrian hums thoughtfully. "I am."
For Adrian and Rocky, coping with change is hard. Love makes it easier.
