    Izuku Midoriya was born Quirkless, yet still dreamed of being a hero. His wish came true when his heroic nature was revealed and All Might chose him to be the next wielder of One For All. Training for two years to get ready, Izuku takes the first step in becoming a true hero as he starts UA. Expecting his life would have hardships, he didn't know how difficult and complicated his life would become. For he had no idea that he'd be a father figure to a young child. Or that he'd become an inspiration to his classmates and develop true friendships and relationships with some of them. Nor did he expect to be guided by the remnants of the previous users of One For All. He knew he'd have to deal with villains but he never thought that he'd become a target of the Hero Public Safety Commission as well due to his actions. With so much responsibility and burden on his shoulders, he strives to overcome them and be the best hero he could be. A true hero. But Izuku will soon learn that the hero's life is more than what he thought it was as he navigates through corrupt society, crosses paths with fake heroes, overcomes ruthless villains, helps those in need & at the same time, deals with his own personal issues.

    There are 13 chapters as of writing this. I don't like the story so far, it's just constant angst and drama for the sake of the writer's own "realism". I guess I want to see if the story gets better when Midoriya shows up to class but it's been 13 long chapters. I guess i'll give the story a few more chapters but i'm not looking forward to it.     The story was not bad, I liked it, I wish there was more. The story seems finished with 2 chapters but I hope there is more eventually so we can actually see what consequences Bakugou faces, also i'm a sucker for stories that have Tatsumaki and Fubuki being protective sisters of Izuku.

    There are 7 chapters as of writing this. I have mixed feelings about this story, despite having a quirk already the same story beats seem to happen, such as only getting 60 hero points. Some things go worse and better such as getting a worse ball throw score but a better overall score or beating Bakugou but his team losing the match during the first hero class. I'm wondering how Bakugou is going to be handled since he got some minor consequences such as he can't vote for class rep, gauntlets taken away, and on probation. Aizawa says this to Bakugou: (“I was going to expel you, but All Might talked me out of it, saying that his own inexperience as a teacher was partially responsible. For the record, I don’t buy it. So, from here on, you’re on probation.”-“You’ll still be part of the class and be permitted to take part in hero course training, but you’ll be treading on thin ice. Another slip up and you’re out. I don’t tolerate the behaviour you’ve been showing. Likewise, your gauntlets are restricted and will be put on the shelf until you finish your probationary period. Got it?”) But since there is no "Bakugou Katsuki faces consequences" tag i'll have to see if the story allows Bakugou to slip up like he did in canon. Last Updated: 2023-01-29 and I am writing this on Thu Feb 2nd, 2023 at 12:15 am.

    There are 26 chapters as of writing this. I have mixed but mostly negative thoughts about this story so far. I can handle a little angst but when it's 26 chapters (and I'm sure it's not stopping soon) of angst it gets very grating. Like let's compare it to the Tom Holland movies, is there angst and darkness? yeah of course, but it didn't last the entire movie, Peter in this story is just a "sad boi" which is understandable but with the pacing of this story it's lasting too long for me. I found myself skimming and skipping around because how predictable/uninteresting the story was. I think a time skip, even a small one, is necessary as the pacing is practically day to day which is boring. I guess i'll see how it goes and give it some more time, but i'm not sure how much more. The story was last updated: 2022-11-16 and I wrote this on Tuesday December 27th, 2022.

    Chapter 4. I am dropping the story here. Aparently the reason Bakugou abused Midoriya isn't because he's just a bad person, it's just becasue his school told him to do it. If you wanted to punish Aldera you could have, since they let the abuse happen unopposed, all this change does is make Bakugou "not as bad". I'm probably overreacting but It's a very dumb change and I don't feel like trying to give this story another chance at the moment. Last updated: 2022-12-29

    There are 2/4 chapters as of writing this. It's interesting so far but I'm worried only 4 chapters won't be enough to properly explore this AU. I'll see how it goes.

    Chapter 3/3. It was fine/not bad, I'm not really sure what to say. I'm going to try to talk about some of my feelings about the story as a whole. I was disappointed that most magic wouldn't do anything against most people and it kinda feels like a bad trade off (OFA vs Magic) in this AU, we got to see a taste with Midoriya fighting Bakugou but like Midoriya said, Bakugou was underestimating him and it wouldn't go that smoothly every time he fights someone. I'm glad that the story actually portrayed Midoriya's situation as the abuse that it is and didn't dismiss what Bakugou and the others did, I'm also glad that things were reveal to Inko. I really liked the scenes with Harry and Luna, they seem to really get each other, i'm wondering if the questions Harry was trying to ask her before she died were about their relationship, like wondering if they would have worked out romantically? Idk, it was vague. I think the story could have focused on Midoriya a bit more. I know the story has the "Parental Harry Potter" tag but Midoriya calling Harry dad at the end kinda weirded me out as that's not at all what I saw their relationship as, I saw them as friends or maybe older and younger brothers, especially since Harry couldn't make up his mind on wether he was stuck young mentally or not. All in all I would say the story as a whole was fine/not bad.

    This was good, it deconstructs the common excuses made for why Bakugou can't face consequences/expelled. It's satisfying to read a story where Bakugou faces actual consequences when the tag is there. I also enjoyed Aizawa being called out for his laziness and inaction.

    Until One For All is added to the equation, enabling their own Quirk to work on themself as well rather than only on others.

Midoriya is asked if he trained and he responds that he didn't, I hope it's addressed why he didn't as it was learned helplessness and being put down his whole life, but I won't hold my breath for that to actually be addressed.

    Chapter 2. It's bee a long time (around 2 months) since the last update. The story addressed why Midoriya didn't train in a satisfying enough way (pretty much what I was saying above). The chapter was not bad but idk how to feel about the ending, with Bakugou just being in Midoriya's apartment wanting to talk, I hope this story doesn't make excuses for Bakugou. 2023-01-29

The story should have been tagged that Kendo was going to get OFA, even if I already guessed that she would before I started reading the story.     I didn't like it. Bakugou murders Midoriya and will still get a chance to be a hero, how absurd. The story jumps through so many hoops to let a murderer get the chance to be a hero, first he gets black mark that won't allow Bakugou to go to any hero hero courses and "most" hero schools... except he is allowed to go to U.A. you know, A hero school. But it's fine, he can only go in the general course and is barred from all the sports festivals, but if he's a good boy and doesn't murder anymore children he can get his police recored cleaned and get the chance to be a hero if he gets accepted by one. What a waste of my time.

    There is 1 chapter as of writing this. It's interesting, but it's stated (in the notes) that Midoriya won't get OFA so that makes me worried about who will get it, hopefully it's just ignored and not important.

    Chapter 2. Fine.

    Chapter 4. Fine, everything that Bakugou does is promptly swept under the rug.

    Chapter 5 and 6 were posted at the same time with 5 practically being an omake, chapter 6 was fine/not bad.

    Chapter 8. Fine, Baukgou's actions are downplayed as "just as mean as everyone else".

    Chapter 9. Fine, i'm still worried about who will get OFA.

    Chapter 10. Fine, Bakugou receives the consequences of no heroics classes until the Sports Festival at bare minimum and to go to therapy with the threat of expulsion if he does something like that again. Since we know that Bakugou does more stupid things in the future, like punching Midoriya in the face during their finals and fighting him out of class among other things, we'll see how strict the consequences are or if the story will twist the narrative in his favor like earlier in the story.

    Chapter 15. Fine/meh. I was hoping Bakugou was going to loose against Shinso since he is easy to rile up, I'm not sure how Uraraka's 2 weeks of training if somehow enough to keep up with Midoriya's 10 or so.

    Chapter 16. Meh. Bakugou again doesn't act normally so that he avoids actual consequences, I dislike the story the more it goes on.

    Chapter 17. Fine/meh. Midoriya didn't mention Mirko when he was looking over his offers. I swear if Bakugou gets Inko for the internships i'm dropping the story.

    Chapter 18. I skimmed it, i've been loosing interest with this story.

    Chapter 19. Skimmed, fine.

    Chapter 20. I'm dropping the story, the prediction I (and others) had on chapter 17 came true.
