Summary
Young Master Shen is one of those types of nobles. Sheltered, weak, ignorant, and a pain in the neck. Running away just before his wedding and then refusing to kill the monsters attacking him only makes Liu Qingge’s already unfavorable impression of him drop even further.
Liu Qingge attacks the oversized birds attempting to kill them both, and ignores Young Master Shen’s affronted cries to spare them. At least he’s getting paid well to bring this spoiled young master back, Liu Qingge thinks sourly.

Summary
On a warm night in Lotus Pier, with his husband pressed against his side and water on their feet, Shen Qingqiu has a talk with Liu Qingge about their long-time friend and fellow cultivator Jiang Wanyin.
“Shen Qingqiu, I like him too.” Liu Qingge turns to him, eyes blazing. He emphasizes the word like as he responds, as if he’s trying to get at something more. “And you’re fine with that?”
“Of course I am,” Shen Qingqiu responds, bewildered. Jiang Wanyin is their friend. He can’t imagine why he wouldn’t be fine with his husband liking their friend. “We both like him, don’t we? What’s the problem with that…?”
(On a bright summer morning, Liu Qingge addresses Jiang Wanyin with Shen Qingqiu’s hand clasped in his:
“We wish to court you. The both of us.”)

Summary
Shen Qingqiu tries his best to be a good teacher. Nurturing young talents is a pleasure, and guiding them into finding their passions and honing their craft is just as fulfilling.
Of course, when he walks into the library and finds Ning Yingying and Liu Mingyan hunched over and planning a story, he must approve. Of course he would do everything he can to support these promising young disciples!
Shen Qingqiu only approves more when they decide to base their project on his experiences and adventures with Liu Qingge, naturally.

Summary
Liu Qingge presses a devoted kiss to the hand of the plum blossom fairy that he's always loved. Fairy Shen stammers and turns red, but doesn't pull away.
Liu Qingge kneels first, cradling Fairy Shen's hand carefully and speaks: "Fairy Shen, I have become the strongest cultivator of the jianghu, become peak lord, and have been upright and righteous my whole life. Now that I am your ideal lover, won't you finally accept my courtship?"

The curve of his lips is slight, and a less experienced person would even call it charming. But the incongruence between that curve and the dim glaze of his eyes is too obvious to Liu Qingge, and he has to hold back his worried thoughts. "Holding an umbrella for this old man, how noble."
Liu Qingge can't help but think that for Shen Qingqiu, holding an umbrella is the very least that he would do for Shen Qingqiu.

Summary
After a secret peak lord meeting, it is decided that Liu Qingge must accompany Shen Qingqiu to a temple. His tendency to get attacked, poisoned, plotted against, or all three of those at the same time is getting to a point where they have reached out to a temple to see if they can lessen his terrible luck. With Liu Qingge escorting him, they reasoned, Shen Qingqiu should be safe.
Liu Qingge should have known that with Shen Qingqiu’s luck, it couldn’t have been that easy.

Summary
Shen Qingqiu had never thought about it before. He had been so caught up in his own feelings, simply following his heart when it came to Liu Qingge. He had sworn his love to his husband, made his bows without a second thought. It was simple to live in that ignorant bliss. But the more he thinks about it, the more it rings true. It is devastatingly and insultingly simple, clear even to a blind man.
Shen Qingqiu has never deserved this love, this adoration from Liu Qingge. The love that is given to him should have never been his in the first place. His heart protests heavily, painful in his chest, but Shen Qingqiu ignores it.
When he thinks of what Liu Qingge could have, what Liu Qingge deserves to have, it is clear what Shen Qingqiu must do.

"If Liu-shidi is offering, then this shixiong will gladly oblige." Shen Qingqiu gingerly takes a stick of ruby red cherry tanghulu, and lifts it to his mouth.
