“I'm here, Eddie. I'm here.” Buck wiped his tears, swiped his sweaty hair from his forehead. “I'm here, you're fine, you're okay, I promise.”
“Buck.” Eddie breathed again. A sob skipping from his mouth, tears spilling again. “You died.”
“You died. You were dead. They killed you. They killed you. They killed you.” Eddie sobbed uncontrollably, “You died. They killed you.”
OR: A post-New Mexico coda where Eddie couldn't handle the trauma after the events in New Mexico as much as he thought he would. Thankfully Buck will always be there for him.

Eddie slowly stretches his hand and accepts the book hesitantly. Somehow, his body already knows. His brain hasn’t caught up yet, but his hands are shaking and he has this strange feeling in his stomach.
When he looks down at his hand, his eyes catch the name at the bottom in less than a second.
Eddie opens his mouth and his breath hitches.
“Fuck.” He whispers. His friend strokes his back softly, trying to comfort him.
It’s a red book with bold black letters.
And it reads:Of love and loss
