Dr John Shen, who always carried around an iced coffee from Dunkin’, who was calm and relaxed in the most extreme situations, who soothed patients’ worries with only his words, and who was unfairly handsome. There is something wrong with James. It’s only logical. People do not like him overly much; he has often been told he’s rude, arrogant, dismissive, annoying, obnoxious.
And then there is the very popular phrase ‘What is wrong with you?’ which James has never known how to answer. In the past, it never occurred to him that there could be something wrong. Not when he wasn’t actually sick, or in the hospital for an odd fall or a surgery. He understands now, years later, that his health was never the concern addressed with that question.
