Summary
Steve’s gaze latched onto the empty space where Eddie’s guitar hung when he was home. A big fat tear trickled down his nose, which was dumb. So much better he was sick than Eddie, who was off storming stages and shredding those badass guitar riffs. Much better him lying here than the many kids looking forward to their ‘magical’ Christmas.
He clung to that miserable consolation through a horrible night, tossing and turning. He coughed so bad he was scared he’d wake everyone in the trailer park who’d not already been dragged awake by their hyper-excited pups. Goddammit, he wanted some of his own. Nearly as badly as he needed Eddie, right here, right now. “Oh, Jesus. Pull yourself together, Harrington…”
Or, Steve is sick and attempting to isolate away from his Alpha and found family. Who are not letting him get away with it.

“That’d be amazing. Way better than standing in the doorway,” Steve agreed with a little laugh. He felt almost giddy and knew his hopes were too high, but he couldn’t help it. It felt like he was getting one last chance to prove to the universe that he could do this, that he could make a sale, that he could keep going.
Eddie moved aside to let him in and took a quick glance along the street again before shutting the door.
He locked it, too.

But he never in a million years imagined he would be stuck in mall jail for a crime he didn't commit, and the threat of his parents being called unless he cooperated fully.
