Summary
There’s something wrong with Josuke. He knows it.
But he doesn’t know what to do about it, knows that even if he could use Crazy Diamond’s skill on himself that it wouldn’t help at all. Josuke is broken but he’s broken in a way that’s not solid, in emotions and thoughts rather than in physical ailments, and there’s nothing a stand can do to change that.
So he pretends.

“Wait,” Josuke says, grabbing Okuyasu’s wrist before he can dismiss his Stand. “Leave him out.”
Okuyasu raises his eyebrows and looks like he’s ready to ask why, but he doesn’t send The Hand away. Josuke’s not entirely sure himself where he’s hoping this will go. There’s some part of his lizard hindbrain that’s lighting up at the idea of The Hand watching them.
It’s kind of hot.

He heard the Marine as he dug into another pocket, shifting forward to hold a lighter near the bars, not yet lit.
“The Straw Hats,” He pressed, bartering with the run of the flint, “where are they?”
Sanji slid his heel along the cell floor and caught it alight; not unlike the draw of a match. He dipped his chin and met the flames halfway along his shin, a satisfied sigh falling out at the first draw of smoke.
The Marine froze awkwardly, his hand lowering slowly and his cheeks flushing with anger.
“I’ll never tell you shit,” Sanji smirked, running a hand leisurely through his tangled locks, “But thanks for the cigarette.”

Sanji dances with the same elegance he fights with. His body curves to match the swell of the music as he gracefully glides around the dancefloor. His feet effortlessly find their placement among a throng of bodies, despite his loose movements.
Despite how many fancy drinks Zoro knows he’s already had tonight.
Zoro takes another generous sip, allowing himself the curve of a smile as he watches the blond. Sanji tilts his head back to laugh at whatever a petite brunette says to him and he reaches to offer her a delicate twirl. Even at a moderate distance, Zoro can just make out the red flush of the blond’s cheeks.
Fuck, he looks so happy.
Zoro recalls what Nami had pestered him with earlier in the evening. Her brow knitted in a frown as she’d asked.
“Doesn’t it bother you?”
“Does what bother me?”
“His flirting.”

The front door swings open, the hinges complaining loudly as the dark vestiges of the foyer greet them.
And then, from the shadows, a set of weary, curious eyes greets them. “Good evening?”
Nami, Usopp, and Chopper huddle together with a tight screech. “A ghost!?”
“Shut up!” Zoro groans.
“Hi!” Luffy waves. “We almost ran into your island, so we came to explore.”
Sanji clears his throat and takes a diminutive step forward. “Apologies for our abrupt arrival. We just wanted to check if everyone accounted for in your household? I’m, uh… concerned one of your residents may have taken a fall off the cliffs. ”
“That sounds worse.” Zoro mumbles, grunting when Sanji rams an elbow into his ribs.
The shadow steps forward, his features reaching the angled moonlight. It’s a young man of slight build and brown hair tied back in a low ponytail. He wears a gray suit, with the tarnished silver chain of a pocketwatch tucked in his waistcoat.
“Ah- He intones, offering the crew a formal nod in welcome. “You’ve seen the lady of the manor.”
His words are met with silence.
“Pardon?” Sanji blurts out.
