Summary

Summary
Over a year after Kyojuro’s death, Akaza cannot shake the feeling of having made a mistake by killing him. Curiosity draws him to the Rengoku Estate, where he discovers that Kyojuro has a younger brother. Naturally, he seizes the opportunity to have a different but surely equally skilled person to fight, and kidnaps Senjuro.
Upon discovering that Senjuro is not, in fact, a skilled fighter, hope and boredom compel Akaza to mould the boy into a worthy opponent. Senjuro, hopeful for a chance (however slim it might be) to avenge his brother, agrees to stay.
For the next two years, they form a bond based on tension, skill, growth, promises, and lies. In the end, their goals and futures will be forever changed by having known and cared for one-another.

Akaza's attempts to forget Rengoku Kyojuro are permanently undermined when he finds that his response to being a stranger in a strange land is to instigate a prison break and agree to escort three girls and Rengoku Senjuro out of a warzone.
And then Kyojuro starts haunting his dreams.
If only he hadn't killed him.Kyojuro finds himself miraculously alive in a foreign hospital, and is forced to look at his life and admit that it has its own value. Talking with Kamado makes it easier.
As does, to Kyojuro's chagrin, the Akaza he can't stop dreaming about.
If only he were real.It's a story about loss and grief, about rediscovered memories and humanity, about unexpected friendship, about finding a reason to live, about claiming your family legacy while escaping its shadow, about strength and all the places you can find it.
