Stede turns to look out over the forest, mug gripped in both hands.
“How wonderful,” he breathes.

“Is he sticking to them?” It comes out sharp. There’s genuine anger in Ed’s voice now, as though he’s personally affronted that Stede isn’t being satisfied. “To have and to hold, yeah?” Ed says, his voice low and gravelly. “When was the last time he held you, Stede?”
Stede whines desperately, tilting his head to give Ed more access to his neck. Hot lips drag up to Stede’s ear.
“When was the last time he had you?”

Crowley’s got a Hell problem we can all relate to: drains blocked and miracles won’t sort it. Almost certainly, it’s the work of malicious rivals Downstairs. Equally certainly, he’s not going to let them see him (literally) sweat. After all, he’s got an Arrangement with an angel who’s happy to offer the use of his charmingly antique bath. There’s just one problem: undressing in your best friend’s and hereditary enemy’s upstairs flat starts to feel surprisingly… intimate.

Language was mistake.
Honeybees communicate by dancing. Works for them, lets them figure out where good flowers are. Ants do it with smells, little chemical trails on the ground to get back to food source. There’s a monkey that screams different for leopards than eagles – different sound for different predator.

Armageddon’s been averted. Hell and Heaven both know to leave them alone. They’ve toasted the world. It’s finally safe to share their feelings about each other, if they dare.
Everything’s going to be fine, right?
The thing about the fire is that it burns you, but you don’t burn. No, you remain what you were: whole, unmarked (except for the soot, the blackening of what were once radiant wings), able to feel every scorch and sear nerve-deep, until the pain blots itself out for a time, only to come back redoubled. The sulphur smell gags you, even if you don’t need to breathe. For a while it seems as if you’ll never be rid of it, even after you find your way to solid ground.
That’s when you find the fire’s become part of you, that it can burn out of your body, no less painfully. You can send it flaring against the night sky in defiance, sign your name across this Fallen world, but it scalds you every time, sucks you back into that pit, where the worm dieth not and their fire is not quenched. You learn to bury it deep away inside you, to use it only when Hell demands it. It seals your acceptance of your order: Get up there and make some trouble.

Crowley snapped his tongue on the roof of his mouth, and he laughed again. He had to admit, Aziraphale could always find creative solutions to his problems.
The joke was on him, though;

“You said you’d never eaten an oyster! I remember distinctly!”
“I—”
“I had to show you what to do!”
“The actual thing is—”
“I demonstrated how to suck them out of the shell! Step by step, Crowley! I must have looked like an absolute tit! How could you let me do that?”
“It just popped out, okay? When I said ‘I’ve never eaten an oyster’, that is; not the, y’know, actual oyster. I wanted to go to dinner with you!”

Aziraphale no longer feels shy about expressing his feelings in public, or about simply stating them outright. To Crowley, the fact that his angel enthusiastically does both within the course of a few minutes during a morning at Saint James's Park feels like both a major victory and a natural result of their evolving relationship.
(The fact that it also serves as a teachable moment is simply a bonus to the Guardian Angel of the world's queer and questioning community.)
By the way, holding hands? Waaaay better than Crowley thought it would be.
