Takumi remembers the blackout, the empty cage, and the silhouette tearing across the schoolyard to approach the wall of fire. He remembers racing after that retreating figure, and the shock of his infuser in his chest interrupting his sprint, and then the drum of his boots pounding the earth as he hunted the traitor's path after tailing him narrowly through the gap in the flames.
When Eito makes his escape from Last Defense Academy, Takumi chases after him.

Summary
There are plenty of adults after Ima’s attention anyway. They greet him like a proper adult with handshakes and claps on the back, commentary on how ‘dashing’ he looks tonight, how ‘handsome’, how ‘gentlemanly’. A group of girls the age of the rest of Ima’s high school senpais trail him for a period of around fifteen minutes and giggle whenever he speaks, even if Ima hasn’t said anything particularly clever. Though to be honest, even if he does, he’s barely aware of it. At some point he stops hearing his own voice before his own ears, distracted by the beating of his heart, which is both abnormally fast and abnormally loud. He’s sweating a lot and anxious the adults can tell. Ima is not unused to being stared at, touched, or admired, but thirty minutes into the meet-and-greet portion of the event, Ima has to break away for a cup of punch just to refresh.
He’s found, not long after that, at the refreshments table by another group in search of his attention, and Ima’s smile comes to his face so automatically, the chance to deny them completely passes him by.
