“Don’t let the world take your innocence too early,” she said softly, a small, content smile on her face. “Stay happy, safe, and unburdened for as long as you possibly can—because once it’s gone, you can’t truly get it back.”
For a moment, everything around them felt too loud and too far away at the same time.

Red Sand AU :
Seth's punishment from Ma'at (with Thoth's soft persuasion) was for him to reincarnate as a human and do good deeds to atone for his past sins. He would reincarnate continuously until his sins are atoned for. He would have his memories as Seth and other reincarnations of his sealed unless in a life and death situation.
Osiris who was revived by Isis tried to stop Ma'at from giving Seth that punishment since it would mean he would have a low chance to meet Seth if he became human but could not do anything when Ra approved of the punishment.
