    “This one’s new,” Egg says, his knuckles brushing along a long, thin line of raised tissue, which was a slightly deeper shade of purple than the rest of Wemmbu’s skin. Soon it’ll fade to a lighter purple, matching the many other scars Wemmbu has collected over the years. Egg rests his hand on the divot of the hybrid’s waist and rubs his thumb across the bottom of Wemmbu’s ribs.

    “Hm?” Those golden eyes flick down and Wemmbu shrugs, his lips twitching into a smile. “Oh, yeah, that one. It was some bandit I fought at Capital City; it’s not that serious, bro.”
