Summary
"I'm not taking them, unless you actually speak to me." Neil repeats, "You can’t just feed me and medicate me like a stray you found in a dumpster, Andrew. Talk to me.”
Andrew doesn’t move. Rather his gaze only intensifies until it starts to feel like he’s looking through Neil, dissecting a difficult puzzle he is considering throwing away.
Neil feels his patience fraying, "Drew," he prompts, his voice dropping an octave, softened by a plea he knows better than to put into words.
"You are a twenty-six-year-old man," Andrew finally says. The words sound like they are being dragged over gravel. He doesn't even look angry anymore, just exhausted. "Not a child who thinks holding his own health hostage is a valid negotiation tactic.”
"It got you to say something," Neil counters, though a sharp pang of guilt twists in his gut at the look in Andrew's eyes.
"Take the pills, Neil. I’m not going to argue with you about your inability to follow basic medical instructions. Not when I spent the night wondering if you were even going to wake up.”

Summary
"There’s a lamp glowing warm in the corner beside Bee’s bookshelf, soft light catching on the edges of framed degrees Andrew’s never bothered reading before now. That’s where he sticks his gaze, just shy of looking at Bee.
Neil had looked gray when Andrew left the dorm. Gray, like someone had scooped the color out of him with both hands and left behind whatever was underneath. Every sharp bone in his body has started showing through lately - collarbones too pronounced beneath loose shirts, wrists thin enough Andrew can nearly circle one entirely with his hand.
It’s like watching something eat Neil alive from the inside out. Like termites hollowing through wood. The details accumulate under Andrew’s skin like splinters.
“Andrew.”
“He looks like a corpse,” Andrew says flatly."

Summary
“I want to see you in those obscene ceremonial marks again. I want to put them on you. Alone, this time—I don’t fucking need anyone around to see you like that and get any ideas. And when I finally bite you, it won’t be on your neck.” He lets out a rueful laugh. “Nothing as dignified for us, Misery.”

Summary
Misery Lark Moreland has settled into an unexpected peace as wife and mate to Alpha Lowe Moreland, accepted within the Southwestern pack, and building a quiet life removed from the politics she once navigated alone. But that fragile balance begins to fracture when Misery starts experiencing subtle, unsettling changes: shifts in instincts, appetite, and control that defy everything known about vampyres.
The truth is unprecedented: she is pregnant.
A vampyre–were pregnancy has never existed on record, and its implications ripple far beyond their home. With tensions already strained after the revelation of were–human hybrids, Misery’s condition threatens to destabilize the fragile alliance between species.
As whispers spread and factions begin to move, what should have been a private miracle becomes a dangerous target. Now, Misery and Lowe must navigate pack loyalty, vampyre politics, and a rising threat determined to control—or eliminate—what their child represents.
