"Freddie?" Vax's voice cut through the library's hushed atmosphere.
"Hmm?" Percy didn't look up from his weathered copy of Emma, thumb absently tracing the frayed edge of page 94.
"Ten minutes." Vax tapped his wristwatch, the leather band worn thin at the buckle.
"Fuck really?" Percy's eyes widened behind smudged lenses, a rare curse from his usually measured mouth.
"Sorry sunshine." Vax's smile was crooked, revealing the chipped incisor from last year's hockey incident. There was a reason Vax avoided team sports.
"How did I ever make it to a race before I had you?" Percy asked as he unfolded his tall frame and stood next to Vax, his white hair catching the golden afternoon light streaming through dusty library windows.
"It's a mystery. Now get your shoes on and go warm up or the whole school will lynch me." Vax nudged Percy's pristine track bag with his scuffed boot.

Summary
In this series, Keith uses ASL as a primary language, can lipread but its hard doesn't prefer it. He's profoundly Deaf in one ear and severely Deaf in the other. He has hearing aids to help him lipread when he's out and about but he prefers to not wear them since they're overstimulating.
Lance is hearing and learning ASL for Keith and wants to learn about Deaf culture.
Shiro is married to Adam who is HoH and knows ASL, so they adopted Keith when he was younger.
As for requests for this series, please leave a comment! I don't feel comfortable writing Keith "getting his hearing back" or him getting cochlear implants! Any other Deaf Keith ideas would be great!

A bit of guilt tugged in Keith's chest at that. "I don't know— just something kind of bad, but I think I'm freaking out over nothing," His voice took a defensive tone as he wrapped his arms around himself and Lance brought his hands to his shoulders and rubbed.

Lance realises that he can't afford to lose Keith as well, that it would hurt even more than losing Allura did, and discovers the feelings for him that he’d denied himself all along. Lance doesn't want Keith to leave his side ever again. He takes the leap of faith and confesses.
OR: Post war, Keith gets hurt badly on a mission and Lance realises he can’t lose him too, maybe, perhaps, in fact, not at all. They’re both stupid and stubborn and lay everything out and open onto the table.
