Arvid Linblad keeps making objectively terrible decisions.
Examples include: illegally driving customer cars at 2am, following rumours about underground street races to the Birmingham docks, accepting a job at the Red Bull garage, getting emotionally attached to a Nissan Silvia S15, and developing feelings for Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar.
In Arvid’s defence, all of those things were heavily encouraged by the people around him.

Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar take one look at him standing at the edge of the underground racing circuit and immediately decide he has absolutely no survival instincts; someone should probably keep an eye on him, and Red Bull might as well claim him before another crew does.

He’s there for the vacation sunshine, a free drink or two and a well deserved break, not whatever is happening on track.
OR: Charles is the latest in a rising influx of social media influencers, athletes, and celebrities to be invited into the paddock for a race weekend who have no idea what F1 even is or how it works. So it’s a good thing he ends up in four-time World Drivers’ Champion Max Verstappen’s garage—whatever the hell that means.

Arvid Lindblad joins the 2026 F1 season with far too much youthful energy and bravado, throwing himself into the spotlight with wild abandon. He treats racing the same way. It’s his magic.
The Formula 1 grid is not prepared for him. His fellow drivers won’t say it out loud, but some think he has a death wish. They worry he’s going to burn himself out.
Arvid just wants the people around him to stop saying that he’s suicidal. He’s simply treating Death as what they are: a friend.

In a world where everyone has small mundane powers, like being slightly luckier than average every Tuesday or always finding a convenient parking spot, Arvid Lindblad’s ability is listed as "Superhuman Courage" on the FIA’s public website. This is categorically and intentionally false. Arvid himself would describe his ability as a direct line to Death’s personal phone. Death…well. It’s anyone’s guess what they think about it.
